The Missions Expo is our annual event to inspire CPCers about short-term mission trips in the upcoming year. Short-term mission trips allow people at CPC to serve alongside our partners up close and personal. Short-term trips should leave our partners feeling encouraged, that our trip has helped their ministry build momentum, and that they can continue the relationships and work we contributed to while we were there.
The desire to serve cross-culturally should come from being a “transformed people” who have the eyes to see people in need, how God is at work, and how we can participate with God by serving both locally and around the world. Participating in a trip also contributes to a CPCers ongoing transformation: proximity is essential for growing an understanding of God’s global church/the global family of believers, empathy for others, humility, and a heart for lost. When returning from a trip, most people have deeper relationships, their understanding of God and worldview are bigger, they are more connected to believers worldwide, and they are inspired to serve and share their faith in their community.
