base camp

  1. a main encampment providing supplies, shelter, and communications for persons engaged in wide-ranging activities, as exploring, reconnaissance, hunting, or mountain climbing.

This summer at CPC we will spend some time at base camp, replenishing our supplies, fortifying our shelter and communication with God as we prepare to climb higher in our walk with Jesus. Far too often we see the basics of the Christian life as things we graduate from, but the truth is we need to continually return to these foundational, base camp like practices and truths if we are going to continue to make progress in our journey. We will explore

topics such as authority, the gospel, prayer, wealth, faith, mission, community, work, family, knowing God’s will and spiritual warfare — all essential items for a successful climb. This sermon series will provide you with the essentials for genuine discipleship, not just in terms of what to believe but also in terms of what to do and how to do it. We hope you will join us.

Listed are some tools for the journey that we are using for this series! What great summer reading!
