It is easy for parents/caregivers to feel overwhelmed by the many challenges their children face. Often it can be easy to get discouraged and feel disconnected from your child as they navigate life. Join the CPC GenTeam on Sunday, February 28 at 1:30pm as we host our second virtual Parent Lab. Our Parent Labs are designed to equip and encourage parents in key areas of their child’s development and maturity. This Parent Lab will focus on caring for the mental health of your child and is focused on those caring for children between the ages of 0–18, but all are welcome. You will walk away equipped with practical tools to connect with your child at any age as well as feeling encouraged that you are not alone in this challenging conversation.

Our Parent Lab will be guided by Lindsey Sneed and Shari Shussel.

Lindsey is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a Master’s degree in Educational Counseling, a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology, and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Clinical Psychology where she is working on her dissertation focusing on parent-mediated treatment for children with autism. Lindsey has been working in behavioral health treatment for 15 years, working with individuals with autism and their parents, adolescents, and adults. Her primary focus in treatment and research is parent empowerment and parental self-efficacy. She is the Director of Clinical Standards and Research at the Catalight Foundation. Lindsey has been married for 11 years to Kevin Sneed, and together they have two beautiful daughters, Madison and Adley.

Shari has her Masters degree in Educational Counseling and has spent the last 14 years in the public high school setting. Her work has focused predominantly on the social and emotional wellness of students ages 14-18. Empowering and advocating youth has always been her goal as she has designed programs around supporting the development of both students and their relationships with their parents and other important adults in their lives. Youth resilience, teen voice, restorative conversations and mindfulness, and meditation have been the center of the program creation she has focused on for the last three years along with a large team of therapists in community based organizations. Shari grew up hiking, biking and running in California, and is raising her two children alongside her husband of nearly 13 years.

Kevin Sneed serves as the Generations Pastor at Central Peninsula Church. He has a masters degree in Theology and Ethics from Fuller Seminary and is currently a 3rd year PhD student at the Graduate Theological Union, studying political theology. Kevin has been serving the local church in various roles for over 15 years and is passionate about exploring the complex intersection of faith and public life in a secular society. Kevin has been married to Lindsey for 11 years and together they have two beautiful daughters, Madison and Adley.
