17% of children in San Mateo County live in food insecure households, meaning households in which there is limited or uncertain access to adequate food. Over 36% of children in San Mateo County qualify for free/reduced school lunch under the National School Lunch Program.


CALL Primrose Center is a not-for-profit agency co-founded in 1983 as an information center to answer the needs of the community for grocery assistance and other services. CALL serves individuals, families, seniors and those who are homeless. All requests are screened to determine and understand the need and to assist in the process of self- sufficiency.


Funds and food donations are received from private foundations, businesses and service organizations, plus various Peninsula city grants. Additional support comes from schools congregations and individuals within our community.
