Chris and Sarah Chirico
Mid-Peninsula Young Life
Check out the CPC interview of Chris from October 2016, here.
Chris is the Area Director for Mid Peninsula Young Life. He grew up in Phoenix Arizona, graduated from Arizona State University, and moved to San Mateo to work with Young Life. He and his wife, Sarah have been married since 2009.
Chris did not grow up in the church. He attended a private Christian prep school through high school and like all high school kids, he wanted to feel loved. He was able to find that through Young Life and found his faith sophomore year in high school at Woodleaf, the same Young Life camp they take kids to today.
He started volunteering for Young Life as a leader when he was 18 years old and did that for 7 years in AZ, before he took a Young Life staff job in the Bay Area.
Mid Peninsula Young Life is a multicultural ministry focused on reaching high school and middle school kids in San Mateo County. The primary schools they focus on are Aragon, Hillsdale, Burlingame, Carlmont High School. They also focus on Abbott and Ralston Middle School. With volunteer leaders from the community, their goal is to provide exciting ways for every kid to have the opportunity to hear about and experience Jesus Christ.
Mid Peninsula Young Life meets weekly on Monday nights as volunteer leaders show kids the love of Jesus by making them feel welcomed and loved. The leaders care for these kids and walk alongside them as they journey through life.

Fun Fact: Reiltin Maguire goes to CPC North and is a student at Burlingame High School. A Young Life club was just started there in September of 2015 thanks to her! 80 students showed up for the first meeting! Praise God!
