ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 16, 2026
Financial Update: The June Financials are available on the CPC App or scroll down to the bottom of this page.
Shell Blvd Closed: Shell Blvd is closed this weekend due to Foster City’s Summer Days. Make plans to leave a little earlier as you take alternate routes to get to church.
Discover CPC: New to CPC? We’d love to meet you! If you’ve started attending CPC in the past year, join us for Discover CPC, a relaxed and welcoming time designed just for you—happening this Sunday, August 16, from 12:45 to 1:45 pm (right after the second service). Enjoy snacks, connect with others, and hear from some of our pastors and directors about the heart behind CPC. You’ll learn about our mission, values, and where we believe God is leading us in the coming decade. Let us know if you’re joining us at cpc.org/events.
Foster City Fire Relief: In the wake of the devastating Sea Spray Lane fire, we've been humbled by the generosity of our church family and community. As of this writing, we've already been able to provide immediate assistance to 30 families. If you know someone who has been affected by the fire, please fill out the Fire Relief Form so we can connect with them and understand how we can best serve them. Gathering this information helps us ensure that no one falls through the cracks and allows us to respond thoughtfully to each family's unique situation.
Over the years, we've learned that while the desire to help is immediate, a family's greatest needs often don't become clear for days or even weeks. That's why we're responding in two ways: meeting immediate needs through gift cards while also taking the time to understand how we can best provide long-term care. As needs become clear, we hope to help with things like rent, furnishings, and other practical support. If you'd like to be part of that response, we invite you to give to our Special Needs Fund. This fund allows us to care not only for families affected by this fire but also for others in our community facing unexpected hardship throughout the year. Every gift to the Special Needs Fund is used to provide practical care for people in our community, helping us extend Christ's love beyond the walls of our church. Thank you for helping us love our neighbors well. Your generosity is already making a difference, and we're grateful to be serving our community together.
Fall Baptism: If you’ve been thinking about baptism, or simply wondering if it might be your next step, we’d love to invite you to come and see. Join us for our Baptism Class on Sunday, September 13, where you can ask questions, learn more, and explore what baptism could look like for you. Then we’ll celebrate together as a church family on Baptism Sunday, October 25! Register today!
Midweek Day Change: Beginning this fall, Student Ministries and Monday Night Men's Fraternity are moving to Wednesday evenings, joining Women's Bible Study for one shared night of discipleship. This change is designed to help remove barriers, simplify schedules, and create more opportunities for the whole family to grow together. Watch this video to hear more about the heart behind this exciting change.
New Mission Partner Visit: Mark your calendar for lunch on Sunday, August 23, from 1:00–2:30 pm as we welcome and encourage CPC's newest global mission partner serving in North Africa. Because of the sensitive nature of where they live and serve, we aren't able to publish their name or photo online. We'd love for you to join us in person to hear their story, learn about their work in economic development, discipleship, and mentoring, and discover how God is at work through their ministry. Together, we'll pray over this new season and encourage them as they serve around the world. RSVP today!
Grandparents: Join us for the Legacy Grandparenting Summit 2026, a day designed to encourage and equip you to make the most of your spiritual influence. You'll leave inspired, encouraged, and equipped with practical ways to invest in the next generation's faith. Saturday, August 29, from 9:00 am–4:30 pm at CPC in the Multipurpose Room. Come discover how God can use you to leave a lasting legacy in the lives of your grandchildren. Register today!
Retirement Wisdom Workshop: Retirement is about more than finances—it’s an opportunity to consider how God is inviting you to steward your next season. Join Scott Pearing from Seek First Foundation on Sunday, September 6, from 1:30–3 pm to explore practical retirement strategies and how to intentionally steward your time, talents, and treasures. Come begin building a clear, God-honoring roadmap for retirement. For more information and to register, go to cpc.org/events.
Stories From Honduras: Come hear stories of God's faithfulness in Honduras! Join our team as we share how God is transforming lives through our partnership with Footsteps Missions on Sunday, September 13, from 1-3 pm. You'll hear stories from the Gardens of Love and Hope children's program, the dental clinic, and the ongoing ministry that is bringing hope to families throughout the community. Register today!
Young Adults: Grab a flannel and a friend and kick off the fall with CPC Young Adults on Tuesday, September 15 from 7-9 pm! Join us for games, snacks, friendly competition, and a chance to meet new people and reconnect with familiar faces. You’ll also learn more about Young Adults at CPC and how to get plugged into a small group. Come hang out and start the fall with us! For more information and to register, go to cpc.org/events.
Cultivate Attentiveness: You're invited to explore what it means to cultivate a life of attentiveness to God. Together, we’ll invite the Holy Spirit to tend the soil of our hearts—gently uncovering the noise and distractions that keep us from being present to God—and sow new seeds through simple practices that help us slow down, listen, and become more aware of God’s presence in our everyday lives. Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 20 from 4-6 pm. For more information and to register, go to cpc.org/events.
Men’s Retreat: Step away from the busyness of everyday life and join the men of CPC for the 2026 Mount Hermon Men's Retreat, September 25–27! Spend a weekend in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains growing in your faith, building friendships, and worshiping alongside men from across the Bay Area. Registration is a two-step process: first, register through CPC, then complete your Mount Hermon registration using the link in your confirmation email. Be sure to register early if you'd like to room with friends—spaces fill quickly! Register today! Questions? Contact Joshua Parrish.
2026-2027 Men’s Fraternity: Men, join us as we kick off the year with a six-week journey through the book of Romans using Max Lucado's 40 Days Through the Book: Romans. Together, we'll discover how God's grace not only forgives us but also transforms us, shaping how we live and follow Jesus every day. Romans is the first of three studies we'll explore this year as we grow in faith, build authentic friendships, and encourage one another on the journey. Whether you're new or have been with us for years, we'd love to have you join us. Register today!
